Hunger: A Real Issue & What You Can Do To Help End It (Process)
Our infographic was created to use as a way to spread information to the public about a non-profit organization we are working with this year called Feeding America and to inform others about hunger being an issue in Kentucky. To create the infographic, I used a free website called Canva. Using Canva, I searched for a free template and deleted ALL of the content it had, I only wanted to use it to get the correct measurements. On the front, I changed the size, color, and location of the two shapes that were left to fit our groups needs. Then, I started adding other pieces that explained the information I needed to get out for our group to the community. I added a title at the top and used the font called Knewave with the font color in black. Using black made it stand out against the yellow background. I added subtitles using the same font and style as the title. Each section of information is separated using a simple yellow line, I used the shape tool to make small, long rectangles for lines. Each section also has a small graphic that matches the information shown. All of the graphics we used were free images that we located online using Google Image Search. On the back, the group decided that it is important that people know facts and data about hunger in Kentucky. So, I made different sections for each fact and separated them using the same yellow lines as the front. I added the facts and a graphics to match them. All of the facts were gathered on the Feeding America website and so was the information on the front. At the bottom, I chose to add the logo for each of the food banks that help Kentucky get food to people who need it. In a small simple font at the bottom, I credited the source where our information/facts/data came from. This infographic helped get a lot of information out in a quick way. It was very simple and easy to understand for all of the people reading it. This infographic was used by our schools Showcase Project group names, Hunger Heroes. We plan on using it again at the State Competition.
