Welcome to Caverna Ind. Schools Food Service and Nutrition Web page
The food service department at Caverna Ind. Schools is dedicated to serving nutritious meals to help promote healthy lifestyles as a means to help our students reach educational goals.
Caverna schools, through federally assisted meal programs, provides nutritionally balanced low-cost or free meals to students each school day. Studies show that children who are hungry find it hard to stay alert and participate in their classroom experiences. It is our goal to help close the readiness gap with a good breakfast before classes begin. We also plan school lunches that provide one-third of the recommended dietary allowances for school-age children. Menus include fresh fruit, vegetables, low-fat milk and whole-grain products. We closely monitor each meals fat, sodium and sugar content.
