Caverna Independent School District is proud to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of the Caverna High School graduating Class of 2026 in the area of postsecondary readiness. Official postsecondary readiness scores from the Kentucky Department of Education will be released early this fall, but preliminary data already shows that this class has set the bar high.
Of the 62 graduating seniors, 61 students met the state’s postsecondary readiness criteria, resulting in an outstanding 98.4% readiness rate. Even more impressive, 100% of the graduates recognized during the ceremony were postsecondary ready.
This year’s class excelled in both college and career preparation. Half of the graduating class earned distinction as both college and career ready, while 72% of students, 45 graduates, earned official career certifications through End-of-Pathway assessments, cooperative education programs, or Career and Technical Education (CTE) dual credit opportunities.
Additional highlights from the Class of 2026 include:
33 students completed high-demand CTE pathway courses.
14 students earned industry-recognized high-demand career and technical certifications.
24 students completed official registered co-op experiences.
Caverna High School students also achieved tremendous success through dual credit opportunities during the 2025-2026 school year. Students completed 182 dual credit courses, earned a perfect 100% pass rate, and accumulated an incredible 546 college credit hours.
A special recognition goes to Mr. Nathan Wyatt, College and Career Readiness Coach, and Mrs. Jessi Hampton, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, for their unwavering dedication to students. Together, they invested countless hours working one-on-one with students to complete college applications, apply for scholarships, register for assessments, maintain co-op placements, and prepare for life after graduation. Their passion, support, and commitment helped open doors and create opportunities for so many students in this graduating class.
These accomplishments are a true reflection of the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our families and community. The Caverna Independent School district is incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and excited to see all they will accomplish in the future.
